DISBURSEMENTS
Disbursements are third party fees that are paid out on your behalf to the government, cemetery, crematorium or other service provider.
These fees are subject to change, taxes are included.
Coroner’s Certificate
In Ontario, a Coroner’s Certificate to cremate is required before cremation can take place. This fee is set by the Chief Coroner of Ontario and is paid directly to the approving medical professional.
Municipal Registration
The fee charged by the local municipality to register a death.
Cremation Fee
The fee charged by the crematorium for the process of cremation. Over 250lbs and family witnessing may incur additional costs.
BAO Consumer Protection Fee
This fee is charged by The Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) in order to provide it’s services of information on your options in bereavement services and to regulate the profession making sure the law is consistently followed. The BAO’s regulatory work includes responding to public complaints, inspecting and providing guidance to bereavement businesses and professionals, which it licenses across Ontario to better serve you – the public. The BAO is wholly funded by licensee fees (not tax dollars). HST exempt.
Cemetery Opening and Closing Fees
Paid directly to the cemetery at cost, fees are for the cemetery staff to prepare property for disposition.

PAYMENT & FINANCING
Unless otherwise specified, payment for at need services and supplies is due within 10 days of the delivery or the provision of services and supplies. Payment may be made by cash, cheque, debit, and most major credit cards. Payment plans are also available to meet most budgets. Financing charges apply to payment plans. Beyond the allotted time, interest will be charged at a rate of 1.5% per month, which is equivalent to 18% per annum (APR).
